We're Motivating People to Donate Blood

There are many reasons why people can't donate blood. Where's Your Heart?'s founder, David Bressler, can't donate because he travels to places that make his blood undesirable. Other people are unhealthy, while yet others are too thin. Some just don't like needles. Giving blood is important. We'd like to encourage people who can't donate to sponsor those who can, but might otherwise be unmotivated.

Our plan is simple. We're going to raise $20 for each blood donation. Your donation should make you feel good, and we'll keep you up to date on Facebook so you keep feeling good. We'll share where donations are going, how much blood has been donated, and how much money we've raised. You'll see the domino effect your donation has by the cumulative blood collection we achieve, the amount raised, and the diversity of causes we've been able to impact.

Your donation will incentize blood donors, because they get to select a cause to receive your donation*. Once the blood donation is complete, the blood donor simply selects the cause to receive their sponsored donation and uploads proof of blood donation. We validate that their cause is a certified 501(c)(3) and write a check. Simple! (*75%, $15, is sent to the target cause, the remaining 25% is used to cover our expenses, including payment processing, and to fund Where's Your Heart?'s charitable mission. WYH? is a 501(c)(3) organization, the full $20 donation is tax deductible.)
